Helo's Blessing

Sunday is the one day out of the week that Mommy gets a break and Daddy is 'Mommy' for the day. So during church Daddy has Helo. But because of work, lately Dan has had to miss a lot of church. And when Helo and I go to church on Sundays...I can tell He really misses Daddy.
So when we went to California for Helo's Blessing...Helo was excited to see Daddy. And the Blessing could not have been more perfect, Daddy and Helo did great!

Helo Meeting Family

Family Pictures Are Always Perfect Because It's With Family!
When we were in Cali... Helo met A LOT of Family! He wasn't too pleased with being passed around every 10 minutes, and He was SO exhausted. He slept for 7 straight hours one night because He was SO tired.
Dan and I were driving from Corona to Apple Valley starting at 10:50pm. Helo (being as tired as He was) fell asleep at 11pm. When we got to the Apple Valley house He was still sleeping, so dan and I decided it would be best to leave him in his carseat. When Helo woke up to eat, at 6am, He was crying because his fingers were so cold He could not move them. Dan and I LOVE our room between 55 and 60 degrees, but lately we have decided to suck it up as parents and keep it warmer for Helo. We even bundled Him up tight before we went to bed, but in the middle of the night he wiggled his hands out of the blanket. So we stuck Him in between Dan and I so we could defrost his fingers with our body heat. Within 5 minutes Helo was toasty warm and eating. Now Dan and I know to either keep the room really toasty, or take the risk of him crying and take him out of his carseat.
Dan and I are Happy that our Families had the opportunity to meet our little Helo. And we hope to come back soon.
Love and Miss You All.

Flying to and From Cali

We as a Family had the opportunity to go to Cali for Helo's Baby Blessing. Helo was SO good on the airplane flight(s). Our first flight was straight there and on the way back we had a layover. On the first and third flight Helo would start eating right away, then He would fall asleep and not wake up until we stood up to get off the plane. On the second flight He ate right away and went to sleep, then He woke up the last 15 minutes, but all he did was look around and suck on his pacifier.
While we were on the second flight, (a small jet) the pilot came back to use the restroom and we asked if we could get a picture on our way off the plane, so Helo got a picture with the pilot!
Then when we got off the plane, Dan took a picture of Helo and I right beside the plane.
In short, we all had a pleasant experience flying together.

One Random Morning

I Love the mornings Dan has off of work. Just the three of us chill around.

EVERYWHERE!

This is the second part of Daddy's experience of changing the diaper.
So, after Dan put on Helo's diaper... I noticed that it was barely covering him in the front, so with Helo still laying down, I fixed the front of his diaper.
Being a Mom, I should know that if the front is not correct, that I should check the back...
...but I didn't,
So...
20 mins after "The Diaper Change" Helo decided it was a great time to
BLOW UP his diaper!
There was poop EVERYWHERE!
All over Helo's back, blanket(S!) that were wrapped around him, and somehow all over Mommy's sweatshirt and jeans!
It looked like someone poured a bowl of egg drop soup on Helo and I.
So after Dan and I laughed so hard I almost peed my pants, I undressed Helo and I and we jumped in the shower.
Dan was freaking out that I left him a poopy mess in the living room. Helo and I were laughing from the shower as we were listening to Dan gag repeatedly.
(Helo was laughing too, because he saw me laughing).
You can't be mad at something that has already happened, you just have to laugh it off.
At least Dan knows now that there is a right and wrong way to put on a diaper.
I Love the experiences I have with my boys!
(I'm sure you can guess why there are no pics to this post).

So Proud Of Daddy!

Today is 11 October 2011, and at 5:50 something amazing happened!
DADDY CHANGED A DIAPER!
So at 5:40 Helo started to get fussy. Mommy told Daddy that Helo needed a diaper change. Daddy did the usual and said "okay, here is Helo, a diaper, and wipes... here you go Mommy".
But I was busy making dinner and told Dan, "okay, you have everything... so change him". Dan laughed as if I was joking. This went on for five minutes and at 5:50... Dan opened 'The Diaper'... and then got scared off. Dan ran into the kitchen, leaving Helo with an unattached diaper in between his legs. Dan tried to take over making dinner, but I was determined to get him to change a diaper! So Dan and I wrestled in the kitchen (literally).
I told Dan that I was not going to change it and he better hurry and get back to Helo (since he was already kicking his poopy diaper around) or he was going to have a bigger mess to clean up other than Helo's butt, because I wasn't going to touch it. So at 5:55 Dan sat down in front of Helo and CHANGED THE DIAPER!!! The whole time Dan was telling Helo, "Never Again".
But in due time, I'm sure Daddy will be changing diapers like a pro.
Sorry, there are no pictures. I was busy supervising.
Don't tell Dan... but I almost caved.
Helo and I are SO proud!!!
WE LOVE YOU DADDY!

Daddy and Mommy are Suckers

So, as you probably have read, Helo is not a very fussy baby.
And when He is upset, He quickly brings it to our attention, But thankfully not by a scream.
Helo first shows Mommy and Daddy that He is unhappy with
"The Lip"!
And if we do not respond to this face, then He screams.
But Mommy and Daddy are suckers for this face,
so when we see this face, Helo gets whatever He wants
(mainly because He isn't screaming, but showing us in an expression).
I know we should not cave into this face
(Or He will always use it)
But how couldn't you,
Just look at Him!

Helo on Daddy

Daddy had the day off and was spending time with Helo. Mommy was doing her make up and heard Daddy and Helo laughing, and out in the living room...
...This is what Mommy found...

My Precious Boys!

Helo on Mommy

Daddy was cooking dinner and Mommy was holding Helo. Helo fell asleep, and he was so cute so we decided to take a few pictures. The flash woke him up in the last picture. But then he fell right back asleep.

Our Son

We are trying to teach Helo to role over and crawl.
He would get his arms set and then stay there or get frustrated.
Then He set one leg too!
And when He is on Mommy or Daddy, He sets his arms and legs and rocks, or kicks.
He is getting there!

Even when He gets frustrated, He is still OUR SON!
And we will ALWAYS LOVE HIM!
It's just a time that teaches us patience, and we are better at it then we thought!
Yesterday (10/3/2011) was the first time Mommy lost her patience. I just felt useless because I couldn't help Helo. He was just SO tired and He kept fighting it and wouldn't go to sleep.
Luckily for her Daddy was there to be her Hero!
Thank you Daddy!

Our Helo!
He has smiled since day Three!
He is so cute... You can't help but smile when you see him!
