Mommy and Helo

Mommy and Helo at Sushi!
Yes, I dyed my hair red!!!
I have never dyed my hair before, so I thought that I would try something new... short and red.
I was so anxious to try it, and so excited.
I probably won't keep up on it, but it was nice to try.

Helo's like Daddy!

Helo is just like his Daddy. We try in our family to not have the t.v. on all the time (it's a waste of time), but sometimes you can't help but to stare at the screen. So when the t.v. is on Dans eyes are glued to the screen (I learned that if I want his attention I have to pause the screen). we discovered that Helo is the same way.
Helo loves to lean on Daddy, and it is so cute to see those two staring at the screen and watching football together. When Dan yells at the t.v., Helo just looks at Daddy, gets all excited, and then it's back to the t.v.
I Love my men, they seem to be one in the same when it comes to some habits.

A Better Understanding

Dan came home from a hard day at work, to a wife who had a hard day at home. You know those days when you feel like you have so much to do but can't seem to accomplish anything? That's how I felt. I really try to have Dan come home to a relaxing environment and a clean house, but I was frustrated that the house was a mess. So when Dan got home he walked in to a rushed wife and a sleeping Helo. As Dan sat on the couch to relax from his day, I was folding laundry and Helo started fussing. I immediately dropped my head and my eyes started to water, as my incredible Husband gave me a hug and said "I'll get him, you can finish what your doing". Dan went to get Helo, and being as frustrated as I was I didn't even notice that Dan did not come back out. As I started to put away laundry... the only thought running through my mind was, I still have dishes to do, vacuuming, cleaning the bathroom, sweeping, repacking the diaper bag and picking up the nursery. But as I passed by the nursery to put away the towels, I saw My Husband rocking and reading to Helo. The sight brought tears to my eyes. I quickly finished putting away the laundry and then made the decision that there are more precious moments in life then worrying about how perfectly clean the house is. So I brought out the camera and sat and listened to Dans story.
That moment I truly discovered what it means to put your family first. The house chores do matter to an extent, but there are more important matters to tend to... my family. I will always take advantage of the moments that are unforgettable and might not reoccur again. And this was a moment that bonded us more as a family.
Thank you Dan for your patience and kindness, for your loving and caring understanding and for holding to the gospel. I Love You!

Sunday Morning

Mommy needed to get ready for church and Dan was sleeping. I was worried that Helo would wake Dan once I left the room, but when I came back into the room... Dan had Helo in his arms and Helo was so content being on Daddy. And He is so cute holding his pacifier in his mouth.
Dan is such an incredible Husband and Daddy! I couldn't have dreamed up a more perfect Eternal Companion! Thank You Dan for ALL your Love and help.

Helo With Daddy

Happy One Month Helo!

Helo had his One Month Dr appt today! He is in the 75 percentile of his age group for his Weight and Height and he is in the 60 percentile for head circ.! He is 10lbs 2.5oz , 22 1/8in and has a head circ. of 15! He is growing so well! Our little man is so strong and makes us very Happy. As scared as we were to have our lives change (we still are), we are just as Happy to have Helo with us!
Dan is still scared to change a diaper and has yet to change one (someday he will, I don't know when, but he will eventually). Since we brought Helo home from the hospital he has only woken 2-3 times a night for feedings, and sleeps most the day. But of course, he wakes up to play with Daddy when he hears Daddy come home from work.
Helo Loves to sleep! (who doesn't)... He uses his legs a lot. He stands (with assistance) and he kicks a ton! He tries to get up on his knees and succeeds with one knee at a time. Helo has laughed a total of four times. He sounds so funny when he laughs. And the main action of Helo's during the last month is starring into lights! Whenever he sees a light he just stares so when he gets a little fussy, we just turn on a light and he is fine. (We think that he is starring at Angels or looking for them).
We took his One Month pictures in a (if you know Dan) Green Bay Packers onesie! A couple were taken on Dan's Cheese Head. And the white blanket in the background (it is hard to see it) has the information: Helo Wade Rowley, and August 16, 2011, and 7lbs 12.6 oz, 18in embroidered on it. Thank you to Aunt Barb and Uncle Craig for the onsies and Blanket! Our Little man looks SO Cute!
We Love him so much, He is truly a blessing and such a great Son. We look forward to our upcoming adventures as parents, while enjoying the current ones. We are so blessed to have such a calm, healthy and loving Son. WE LOVE YOU HELO!
