Our Helo

Our Sweet Son

We Love it when He Smiles and Laughs!
The way his tongue moves when he laughs, makes us laugh!

So, Helo doesn't really take to the pacifier, which is great!
We don't want to have to go through weening him off of the piece of plastic/rubber.
But when we find him trying to search for his thumb... We grab the pacifier in a split second!
We usually have to hold the pacifier in his mouth for him, but in this picture he held it in himself
(for a total of 3 mins)!

A Visit From Uncle Chris

Uncle Chris wanted to vacation... So he chose to come see us!
Chris kept saying that Helo is the perfect Baby and He has an explosive Butt!
...Mommy and Daddy couldn't agree more!
We can't wait for Helo to meet the rest of his extended family!
See you all soon!
We Love and Miss You Chris!

A Visit From Grandma Rowley and Uncle Andrew

We as a family needed extra help after Carrie went home, so Grandma Rowley and Uncle Andrew came to visit. Grandma stocked the freezer with dinners and breakfasts for when she left and while she was here made sure we all (especially Dan) had a prepared dinner every night! Mommy and Daddy were once again able to bond with Helo. We are grateful that Grandma and Andrew were patient with us as we hogged the attention of our little one. Thank you for understanding that he was still new to us and we wanted most his love and attention. This gave us time to get to know him without other concerns. These pictures were taken right before they left to go back home. Thank you Grandma Rowley for all your help!

A Visit From Aunt Carrie

Aunt Carrie came to visit Helo and help take care of Mommy the day after we got home from the Hospital. How grateful we were to have her! Mommy was able to learn how to care for Helo without any worries about the home, laundry, meals, and everything else you can think of! Thank you Carrie for coming to help us, you helped Mommy, Daddy, and Helo to bond together and helped us as parents to learn to care for him first (without having to worry about everything else). And Thank You to Uncle Drew, Wendy, and Wade for sparing your Mommy. We Miss You and Love You!

Mommy and Helo

Mommy and Helo at Sushi!
Yes, I dyed my hair red!!!
I have never dyed my hair before, so I thought that I would try something new... short and red.
I was so anxious to try it, and so excited.
I probably won't keep up on it, but it was nice to try.

Helo's like Daddy!

Helo is just like his Daddy. We try in our family to not have the t.v. on all the time (it's a waste of time), but sometimes you can't help but to stare at the screen. So when the t.v. is on Dans eyes are glued to the screen (I learned that if I want his attention I have to pause the screen). we discovered that Helo is the same way.
Helo loves to lean on Daddy, and it is so cute to see those two staring at the screen and watching football together. When Dan yells at the t.v., Helo just looks at Daddy, gets all excited, and then it's back to the t.v.
I Love my men, they seem to be one in the same when it comes to some habits.

A Better Understanding

Dan came home from a hard day at work, to a wife who had a hard day at home. You know those days when you feel like you have so much to do but can't seem to accomplish anything? That's how I felt. I really try to have Dan come home to a relaxing environment and a clean house, but I was frustrated that the house was a mess. So when Dan got home he walked in to a rushed wife and a sleeping Helo. As Dan sat on the couch to relax from his day, I was folding laundry and Helo started fussing. I immediately dropped my head and my eyes started to water, as my incredible Husband gave me a hug and said "I'll get him, you can finish what your doing". Dan went to get Helo, and being as frustrated as I was I didn't even notice that Dan did not come back out. As I started to put away laundry... the only thought running through my mind was, I still have dishes to do, vacuuming, cleaning the bathroom, sweeping, repacking the diaper bag and picking up the nursery. But as I passed by the nursery to put away the towels, I saw My Husband rocking and reading to Helo. The sight brought tears to my eyes. I quickly finished putting away the laundry and then made the decision that there are more precious moments in life then worrying about how perfectly clean the house is. So I brought out the camera and sat and listened to Dans story.
That moment I truly discovered what it means to put your family first. The house chores do matter to an extent, but there are more important matters to tend to... my family. I will always take advantage of the moments that are unforgettable and might not reoccur again. And this was a moment that bonded us more as a family.
Thank you Dan for your patience and kindness, for your loving and caring understanding and for holding to the gospel. I Love You!
